MyPHR (American Health Information Management Association)
This site is part of a public outreach campaign to encourage consumers to create their own personal health records (PHRs). Created by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), a national non-profit association dedicated to the effective management of personal health information in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and other healthcare settings, this site describes what PHRs are, how to start one, your privacy issues and provides a comprehensive list of free and commercially available tools and resources to assemble your PHR.
Personal Medical Records (MedlinePlus)
MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information for consumers from the National Library of Medicine (NLM). In this section, it provides references to help you understand and implement PHR’s, including informational articles, video and discussions on privacy and legal issues.
Medem
Medem was founded by the American Medical Association and several national medical specialty societies to develop and provide secure, online communications services for use by physicians and other healthcare providers, including hospitals and health systems, with their patients. Their iHealth service enables patients to assemble a free online PHR and, if the patients’ health care provider subscribes to the service, offers fully integrated web-based services to facilitate physician-patient communication.
