Methodology
SuperSmartHealth provides a gateway to resources offering scientific knowledge, support and inspiration. The content of the website and resources have largely been created and selected by Dr. Daniel Friedland. In selecting the websites:
- We prioritize authoritative resources from well-respected organizations that are established leaders in their fields. Consequently, most of the resources we link to are leading government health websites, academic institutions, and professional and non-profit organizations.
- We have included a few links to commercial resources that fund themselves through advertising or continuing medical education (CME). In selecting these types of resources they need to be leaders in their area of expertise, have an advisory board with relevant expertise and clearly delineate their content from the advertising and CME they offer.
- We prioritize resources that are free and whose primary focus is on education rather than selling a product or service. Consequently, most of the resources or websites we link to are free, as is the content on ours. However we have also linked to a small number resources that require a subscription or a fee, either because they represent leading resources healthcare providers commonly use or they have been judged to provide helpful information that cannot otherwise be freely or easily obtained.
- SuperSmartHealth does not endorse, warrant or receive any financial remuneration from any site it links to.
- We value websites that display when their information was written and last reviewed and that provide up to date information.
- We do our best to assess whether the website is likely to provide reliable information, considering whether the content is assembled or reviewed by qualified health professionals and is based on a balanced review of published research evidence rather than on testimonial evidence or purely expert opinion. In addition, we are mindful of conflicts of interest such as sponsorship by drug manufacturers or products or services being sold that may bias the information. We value resources that provide citations or links to referenced research.
Please note while we have done our best to point you to reliable websites, we cannot vouch for the accuracy of information from any resource or website. Please see our Terms of Use for more information.
